Description:

From 65th annual Summer Festival of Fine Arts & Crafts Website:

This juried festival is free and open to the public, and its not just cowboy art. The Festival showcases a wide range of fine art and the work of a select group of artisans and crafters on the grass under the many tall trees that shade the Historic Courthouse Plaza in downtown Prescott. The Festival is hosted by the Mountain Artists Guild, a non-profit group of artists that has been supporting art and art education in the Prescott area since its founding by Mabel Laurence and famous Cowboy Artist George Phippen in 1949. There will be nearly 120 of the best artists and artisans in the West offering their finest creations for display and sale. There are also arts and crafts demonstrations that will both fascinate and entertain while revealing some of the secrets of artistic creation. Another favorite place is the interactive Kids Art Zone where youngsters of all ages can try their hand at creating real art projects under the instruction of professional artists and crafters. By adding a Childrens Face Painting Booth, a Quick Draw Portraits Booth and lots of fun Festival Foods, we think we have assembled all the ingredients needed for a really fun and memorable day in Prescott for couples and families alike. Resting at 5,300 feet elevation and surrounded by the scenic mountains of Central Arizona, the Prescott Courthouse Square is an exceptionally attractive venue, a joy to exhibitors and visitors alike. Located along Montezuma Street and Prescott's infamous Whiskey Row, one-time haunt of the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday, the Festival site is within easy walking distance of fine restaurants, wonderful and unique shops, art galleries, modern and historic hotels and more than a few places where you can wet your whistle. Parking is easy at the citys Granite Street Parking Garage, one-half block from the Festival site. This event attracts people from all over the country who enjoy fine art and crafts, music, and a day under the shade of the big trees of Prescotts Courthouse Square.
