Description:

From Pot of Gold Music Festival Website:

Lively parties, thirst-quenching suds and Warwick Davis are staples of a killer St. Patricks Day celebration. Based in Chandler, Arizona, the Pot of Gold Music Festival has given fans a truly epic reason to part for St. Paddys Day since 2005 well before the scorching summer reaches heatstroke-worthy levels. With bearable temperatures in a charming Southwestern city, the festival attracts a medley of music-lovers, spring breakers and even fans from the baseball spring training event nearby.

More than 30,000 people come to Chandler to hear the hottest music acts and engage in traditional, leprechaun-like mischief. Youre probably familiar with the Luck of the Irish saying, but Pot of Gold wasnt completely engineered by chance. It took brains, careful planning and a love for great music to create an unforgettable St. Paddys Day experience.

Two live music stages fuel this high-energy weekend: the East Stage and the West Stage. Even if you're directionally challenged, both provide a diverse lineup to satisfy the most eclectic tastes. Instead of folky, fairy-tale jams heard at the end of rainbows, Pot of Gold puts on heavy-hitting performances that feature underground hip-hop acts, alternative metal groups, ska punk bands and many others throughout the weekend.

Live music shows are second-to-none at zapping one's energy. To ensure you're trucking along, Pot of Gold has all kinds of local, regional and national food vendors on which to indulge yourself. And, of course, what is St. Paddy's Day without liquid courage? There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic options to ward off unseasonably warm temperatures, in case the sun is feeling spiteful.

If puny, red-bearded lunatics can chase their precious gold, there's no harm in exploring what kinds of treasures are stashed away in the Vendor Village. Echoing the diverse music lineup, the Vendor Village has a vast collection of booths with unique merchandise and creative pieces made by local artists. A portion of the hard-earned coin you spend is donated to several local charities and Build Up Purpose, a nonprofit youth development organization in Tucson.
